Relocation to the U.S.A. for U.K. citizens can be initiated by purchasing a U.S. based business that is deemed to have met the criteria set by the U.S. immigration and nationalisation service (I.N.S.).  The selection of the business to purchase is therefore critical to a successful relocation application.  There are always many businesses available to purchase that will meet the INS criteria  -  typical purchase prices for suitable businesses start from $50k, occasionally a little less.

How do I find a suitable business to purchase?
You must appoint an appropriate licensed business broker and ideally that broker should be a member of the Florida Business Brokers Association (F.B.B.A.).  A licensed business broker knowledgeable in the requirements set by the INS is essential  -  should you appoint a broker who is not familiar and experienced with INS criteria then you risk your subsequent relocation application being rejected.

What will the licensed business broker do for me?
The broker will be able to access the many businesses for sale at the time and advise on those that are acceptable to the INS for relocation purposes.  The selection of suitable business type will depend on the instructions you give to the broker  -  you may wish to purchase a business similar to your current nature of work, or you may take relocation as an opportunity to enter a different field.  Having found a business conforming with INS criteria, the broker will perform the necessary purchase negotiations on your behalf.
